A funeral service for M. Leroy Cobb, Jr., 79, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in the College Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan Haynes officiating.
Marvin Leroy Cobb, Jr. was born June 1, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Marvin Leroy Cobb, Sr. and Margaret Josphine (Noe) Cobb. He passed from this life on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Leroy’s dad was in the oilfield, this allowed the family to live all over Oklahoma. They settled in Chickasha around the 1960’s. He graduated from Chickasha High School in 1962 and he attended Southwestern College for a semester before deciding to follow in his dad’s footsteps and work in the oilfield. He retired as a drilling consultant.
On January 17, 1965, he married Pamela Jane Miller and they shared almost 38 years together until her passing in November 2003.
Any time they could, Pam and their son Marvin would load up the car and join Leroy wherever he was on the worksite. Leroy was an avid Oklahoma Sooners Fan. He loved fishing and provided fish for the neighborhood and his church family. He was a longtime member of College Heights Baptist Church and he had a strong faith and loved to share the message. Leroy was also a hardworking provider for his family and he cared deeply for his wife and son.
He was preceded in death by both parents and wife, Pam.
Loved ones left to remember him are his son Marvin Cobb and wife Kristy of Edmond; granddaughter Aubrey Cobb of Edmond; brothers Bill Cobb and Sharon Whiting of Oklahoma City and George Cobb of Chickasha; sister Barbara Taylor of Oklahoma City; a niece and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

A viewing for Leroy will be Monday, May 13 th from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
