Funeral services for Marvin Gayle Clift, 66, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Walker officiating.

Marvin Gayle Clift was born October 19, 1945, in Cement, Oklahoma, the son of Gordon Tillman Clift and Thelma Cornelia Matlock Clift.  He died Friday, December 2, 2011, at home in Chickasha.

Marvin grew up in Cement and graduated from Cement High School in 1966.  He later was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam for two years.  He married Beverly Kay Stroud on September 9, 1971, in Anadarko, Oklahoma.  They were married for twenty-five years and from this union their son Michael was born.

Marvin was employed with Sequoyah Mills around 1974 and later with Maremont- Gabriel Ride until his retirement in 2005 after thirty years of service.  He was also married for a time to Marilyn Grissam.

Marvin had many hobbies and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing dominoes, four wheeling, watching basketball, participating in bowling leagues, garage saling and collecting items.

He is preceded in death by both parents; four sisters, Zelma Mae Hutson, Pearl Ruth Snuggs, Shirley Irene Akins, and Wilma Louise Parks; and one brother, Robert Lee Clift.

Survivors include son Michael Clift of Cyril and four brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Julie Clift of Cement, Kenneth and Debbra Clift of Swink, Oklahoma, Arthur Clift of Cement, and William and Theresa Clift also of Cement.  Grandchildren include Martina Grissam, Chelsea Grissam, and Ema Rose Grissam, all of Pocasset.

Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
