Funeral services for Martha Ann Young, 79, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Sharon Baptist Church with Pastor Jon Bawden officiating.

Martha Ann (Floyd) Young was born February 21, 1941 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Robert Earnest Floyd and Nola Gertrude (Wilcoxson) Floyd. She died on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Martha grew up in Sasakwa, Friendship and Rush Springs areas and attended school at Sasakwa and Rush Springs.

On February 7, 1958, she married Richard “Rick” L. Young in Rush Springs, Oklahoma and they had over 62 years together.

Martha helped Rick with their water well business all the while raising her family and making their house a home.

She was a member of the Friend OHCE and an active member of Sharon Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Martha was preceded in death by her daughter Sheila Baker; mother and father Gertrude and Bob Floyd; brothers Lewis, Jack, Edward, James and Joe Floyd; sisters Vera Verner, Minnie Pearl Mullins, Kathleen Williams and Karleen West; brothers-in-law Rusty and Jodie Young; and her in-laws Doc and Dot Young.

Survivors include her husband Rick of the home; children Gay Young and Rodney Young of Chickasha; grandsons Jason Baker of Chickasha, Brandon Baker and wife Abby of Noble, Clayton Baker of Slaughterville; sister-in-law Rene Floyd of Weatherford; and other extended family and friends.

Memorial contributions in honor of Martha may be made to Sharon Baptist Church at 2414 State Hwy 92, Chickasha, OK 73018.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
