Graveside services for Mark Allen Hughes, 62, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019 in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Mark Allen Hughes passed away March 21st 2019 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Mark was born March 5th 1957 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Monnie A. Hughes and Wyvonia L. Hughes.
Mark graduated from Chickasha High School in 1975 and attended The University of Science and Arts. Mark worked for Maremont many years and also worked for the United Stated Post Office in Oklahoma City.
He met the love of his life, Aunda Lynn Mann and they married on March 31st 1997. They spent many happy years together in his childhood home on 5th street before finally buying their own. They together enjoyed road trips, the movies and trying new restaurants.
From an early age with a transistor radio in hand, Mark began his life long love of music. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and roll and eating Lucky Charms. Mark also loved all sports. He loved listening to the New York Yankees on his radio, watching football and eating pizza with his brothers-in-law, David Benjamin and Bob Harmon, and was excited when we got our very own NBA Team.
Mark was a free spirit who loved the sunshine and the open road. He loved to ride his motorcycle to where ever it would take him. Mark also enjoyed mowing his lawn, sitting in his favorite chair while soaking up the sun in the backyard, writing music and playing his guitar. Mark loved visiting with his family and talking about the good old days.
Mark was preceded in death by his wife Aunda L. Hughes, his father Monnie A. Hughes, his mother Wyvonia L. Hughes, sister Carolynn J. Barger and brother Jimmy C. Hughes.
He is survived by brother Monnie C. Hughes of Chickasha, sisters and brothers-in-law Pat and Steve Bruce of Chickasha, Lacresia and Allen Limbaugh of Oklahoma City, Anita and Don Webb of Ninnekah and sister-in-law Rita Hughes of Edmond; nieces and nephews Kelly and Parnell Smith of Ninnekah, Leslie and Johnny Mathews of Ninnekah, Ashlea and Clyde Grey of Ninnekah, Kimberly Harmon of Chickasha, Crissy and Andrew Long of Yukon, Tonya Lemon of Chickasha, Typhinia and Tim Hurt of Chickasha, Robbie and Kerri Harmon of Blanchard, James Barger of Chickasha, John Benjamin of Tennessee, Phillip Benjamin of Ohio, Jimmy Jr. and Melani Hughes of Edmond, Travis Hughes of Chickasha; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Mark will be missed dearly by family and friends. God bless, Peace and Love.
