Graveside services for Marilyn Joan Lambrecht, 86, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in Fairlawn Cemetery with Ron Blankinship officiating.
Marilyn Joan (Salter) Lambrecht was born December 11, 1932 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harvey M. Salter and Verna (Griffis) Salter. She passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Marilyn grew up in Chickasha and during high school she was a cheerleader, graduating Chickasha High in 1950. She then attended Oklahoma College for Women (OCW) majoring in Home Economics and Drama and later also received her Master’s Degree in Special Education.
On December 20, 1952, Marilyn married William Arthur Lambrecht in Chickasha. They were married coming upon 67 years and spent many years traveling together in their motorhome. She loved spending time with her family, was a good cook, liked working in her flowerbeds and gardening.
She was a member of Southern Oaks Church of Christ, teaching Sunday school and participating in various church activities. Marilyn was a Special Education elementary teacher for many years at Middleberg and other school districts. She was also involved in the Grady County Home Economics Club, serving as secretary and treasurer.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her daughter, Cheryl Jane (Lambrecht) Flowers and son-in-law, Phil Wheeler.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Lambrecht, of the home; daughter, Lynda (Lambrecht) Wheeler of Chickasha; sister, Kathryn (Salter) Wendling and husband, L.W. of Chickasha; brother-in-law, Tom Lambrecht and wife, Robyn of Norman; grandchildren, Will Wheeler and wife, Nicole of Chickasha, Seth Wheeler of Chickasha and Tracy (Wheeler) Yokley of California; and other extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
