Margery grew up in Chickasha and attended St. Joseph Catholic School through the 8 th grade. She then graduated from Chickasha High School in 1950.

She attended OCW for one semester then finished out her college at the University of Oklahoma, receiving a BA in Education. For a few years she was a teacher of the deaf at Keys Clinic.

She went on her first date with the love of her life, Dr. James William “Bill” McDoniel in 1955, while he was in medical school. They were married on June 16, 1956.

Bill joined the United States Air Force and they spent the first few years of their marriage moving to various places across the country.  In 1959, they came back to Chickasha where Dr. Bill McDoniel began his work at the clinic. Margery raised her family, making their house a home and supported Bill as he started his general practice. For many years, after her children were grown, she was part-owner of Gifts, Etc. in downtown Chickasha.

Margery was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church, the Chickasha Junior Social Workers, the local PEO Chapter and the Altar Society. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf, snow skiing and sail boating in her younger years, and was an outstanding bridge player throughout her life. She was a massive fan of OU football and the OU women’s basketball team.

Margery was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Diana Kay Jessee, grandson Brad Alan Jessee, brother Joe Ross and sister JoAnn Campo.

Survivors include her husband Dr. Bill McDoniel of the home; son William McDoniel and wife Julie of Norman; son Michael McDoniel and wife Margaret of Austin, Texas; son-in-law Drew Jessee; grandchildren William McDoniel, Benjamin and Hannah McDoniel, Sean Jessee and Erin Carrick, Katherine McDoniel, and Ian Ross McDoniel; beloved nieces and nephews with whom she was very close, most especially Terri Gallaway; and other extended family and friends.
