A funeral service for Margaret Ann Griffith, 68, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Curtis Townley officiating.
Margaret Ann Griffith, known to most as Maggie, was born May 12, 1955 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to William T. Dean and W. Pauline (Hightower) Dean. She passed from this life on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Maggie grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1973. She attended USAO and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 1982 and a Bachelor’s Degree in English in 1989.
She had worked at McClellan’s Five and Dime, Walmart, the USAO Bookstore and C & R Print Shop, but mostly she took care of her home. She enjoyed traveling and Branson was one of her favorite places, she and her two sisters went there often. She was a supporter and volunteered for the Chickasha Animal Shelter and Relay for Life. Maggie was a cancer survivor and over the years worked with several cancer survivor groups. She loved her cat, who was very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her mother Pauline Dean and her father W.T. Dean, and brothers-in-law Terry Atwell and Robert Sims.
Loved ones left to remember her are her sisters Charlotta Atwell of Ninnekah and Gail Sims of Ninnekah; her nephews and nieces Jeff Atwell of Chickasha, Tamara Atwell of Ninnekah, Jimmy Sims of Leonard, Texas, Billy Sims of Spring Dale, Utah, Tony Sims of Tulsa, Jaden Sims of Ninnekah and Doshua Sims of Blanchard; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and other extended family and many friends.
There will be no public viewing. The service and the interment in Amber Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
