Funeral Services for Marcella Maxine Cook, 86, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Oberlender officiating.

Marcella Maxine Cook was born January 31, 1928 in Gotebo, Oklahoma to Mr. and Mrs. Mac McCrea. She died Monday, June 16, 2014 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

As a young girl, Marcella moved to Chickasha with her family, graduating from Chickasha High School. Shortly after high school, she married Billy Frank Rawls, who lost his life in a tragic accident leaving her with two children, Carol and Bill.

On May 15 1952, Marcella married Thomas J. Cook in Chickasha and to this union three children, Gary, Tommy, and Marcia were born. She and Tom enjoyed being a part of bowling leagues and participating in tournaments across the state and country. They travelled different places throughout Oklahoma and enjoyed visiting Las Vegas. As the children were growing up, Marcella and Tom enjoyed watching them excel at their various sports activities. Later they liked to watch Gary race cars.

Marcella spent most of her life raising her children. She was employed for a time at American Optical.

She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Tom Cook; son, Gary Lee Cook; and daughter, Marcia Gayle Cook.

Survivors include her son, Bill Cook, and his wife, Kathy, of Terrell, Texas; son, Thomas G. Cook, and his wife, Darla, of Chandler, Arizona; daughter, Carol Sellers, and her husband, Randell, of Lawton; grandchildren, Charles A. Cook, Cory R. Wren, Zac Sellers, Aaron Cook, Tommy Cook, Paul Merveldt, Tiffany Wright, Thomas Camp, and Chris Camp; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
