Funeral services for Lula Belle Horn, 80, of Verden, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in the First Baptist Church of Verden with Eddie Cox officiating.
Lula Belle Horn was born October 26, 1939 to Steve and Ozie (Alexander) Smith. She died Thursday, March 5, 2020 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Lula Belle came to Verden as a young girl and graduated from Verden High School where she played basketball.
On October 22, 1971, she married Charles M. Horn in Anadarko, Oklahoma and they were married almost 27 years when he passed away in 1998.
Lula Belle grew flowers and would sell them every Thursday at the sale in Anadarko. She also raised and sold birds. She helped Charles with the farm and took care of the home and the garden. She and her mother were a big part of the Senior Center in Verden. They would help there everyday and the new building is dedicated to them.
Lula Belle was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Charles and sister Shirley Hughes.
Survivors include her brothers and sister-in-law Donnie and Roberta Smith of Verden and J.W. Smith of Friend; sisters and brother-in-law Betty and Loren Heavin of Verden and Sharon Hervey of Gracemont; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends Scott and Lisa Clift of Anadarko; and other extended family and friends.
Interment in Laverty Cemetery will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
