Funeral services for Lorie Mary Holt, 64, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.
Lorie Mary (Rowe) Holt was born on January 15, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Bernadette Rowe. She passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Lorie grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1976.
On July 12, 1975, she married John R. Holt in Oklahoma City and they had 46 years of marriage.
She worked as a realtor with Paradigm Realty for around 15 years. She worked hard for many years as the secretary and treasurer of John Holt Auto Group. She was on the Board of Directors for Redlands Community College and the Salvation Army in Chickasha. Lorie founded the Surrey Hills Garage Sales in Yukon, never imagining how big it would become. For a long time, she coordinated the John Holt Christmas Giveaway, giving to the local children at Christmas time.
Lorie was bigger than life. She enjoyed being in charge, there was one way and it was Lorie’s way. She was the life of the party and a wonderful hostess. She was a great cook and you never went hungry or thirsty when she was around. Lorie loved being John’s wife and Tara’s mom. They had many travels and good times as a family. Her greatest joy was her grandson Brock and she loved being his “Nana.”
She was preceded in death by both parents, her in-laws Al and Jo Holt, brother Billy Rowe and nephews John and Jimbo Moddrell.
Survivors include her husband, John Holt of Chickasha; daughter and son-in-law Tara and Chad Jerman of Chickasha; grandson Brock of Chickasha; brother Bob Rowe of Washington, Oklahoma and sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Gary Moddrell of Enos; and other extended family and friends.
The family requests that memorial contributions in honor of Lorie be made to the local Salvation Army, 2402 S. 16 th , Chickasha, OK 73018.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
