Graveside services for Lona Mae Yeargin, 88, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Bill Ohl officiating.
Lona Mae (McCown) Yeargin was born December 23, 1929 in Avery, Texas, one of ten children born to Abern McCown and Alice (Morrison) McCown. She passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Lona grew up and graduated high school in Idabel in 1947.
On April 4, 1947, she married Kent Lewis Yeargin in Idabel, Oklahoma. They moved to Perry and raised their family. She worked for Dr. A.M. Brown as a medical assistant for many years.
They came to Chickasha around 2002, and Kent passed away in 2007. She then moved to Oklahoma City until her passing.
She loved working in her yard and caring for her plants. In more recent years, she enjoyed visiting with her friends and playing bingo, dominoes, and card games.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Kent, two sons, Jeff Yeargin and Ken Yeargin, and eight siblings.
Survivors include her daughter, Jacqueline and Tom Frailey, of Chickasha; six grandchildren, Monica Roberts of Tennessee, Michelle Lambert of Oklahoma City, Brian Yeargin of Chickasha, Angela Kluver of Yukon, Jason Yeargin of Mustang, and Megan Edmonds of Maine; sister, Verna DeBerry of Idabel; thirteen great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Services and interment in Rose Hill Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
