Funeral services for Lloyd Allen Hurley, 68, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in Bible Baptist Church with Kim Hayes officiating and Ted Hurley assisting.
Lloyd Allen Hurley was born April 9, 1948 in Fresno, California, to Alfred Jack Hurley and Bertha Lea (Orum) Hurley. He died on January 20, 2017 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Lloyd was a special needs person who grew up in Fresno, California and later moved to Oklahoma. He loved baseball cards and his own “small” family and was an expert on everything (just ask him). He knew trains, planes, trucks, and oil; he had an excellent memory for details and people.
Lloyd was special to his family and was blessed to play with four generations of children. He travelled with the Road Runner Camper Club for over thirty-five years and was a member. He was an avid reader and loved books. Being a “big” kid himself, he fit in with all the children of the family and many who were his friends. Lloyd never married. He was a faithful doorman at Bible Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by both parents and his brothers, Ronald W. Hurley, A. David Hurley, and Donald L. Hurley.
Lloyd was loved and will be deeply missed by nephew, Michael S. Hurley of Chickasha; niece, Cathleen D. (Hurley) Garcia and husband, Daniel, of Lawton; sister-in-law, Sherry L. (Pool) Hurley of Chickasha; great-nephew, Daniel Garcia, Jr.; great-niece, Linda Garcia; great-nephew, Leon Garcia; sister-in-law, Diana Hurley of Chickasha; cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
Interment in Carnegie Cemetery will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
Viewing will be Monday, January 23 rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
