Funeral services for Liddie Mae Keller-Mitchell, 88, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at Southern Oaks Church of Christ with Ron Blankinship officiating.
Liddie Mae Keller-Mitchell was born on February 25, 1928 in Tuttle, Oklahoma to Lonnie B. Nickels and Gertie Mae (Elliot) Nickels. She passed away on April 3, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Liddie grew up in Tuttle and attended Tuttle and El Reno schools.
She married Lewis Ray Keller, Sr. on August 14, 1946 in Oklahoma City. They enjoyed 54 years together, until his passing in 2001.
They settled in Chickasha, raising their three children, Lewis Ray, Jr., Alice, and Mary. Over the years, Liddie worked at various employments, retiring in the late 1980’s from Delta Faucet.
She later married Bud Hoyt Mitchell.
Liddie was a longtime member of Southern Oaks Church of Christ and enjoyed going to church. She loved to travel and eat at Red Lobster, her favorite restaurant. She was a good cook and loved cooking for her family. Liddie never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone. She always had a smile and never spoke an unkind word or said anything negative. She deeply loved her family and was always there for them. She was always more concerned about others than for herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Lewis Ray Keller, Sr.; second husband, Bud Mitchell; son, Lewis Ray Keller, Jr., granddaughter, Marcie Dyer; sister, Katie Jones; brothers, JB Nickels and Ben Nickels; aunt, Helen Kellison.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Glenn Allen of Ninnekah and Mary and Joe Dyer of Chickasha; adopted son, Curtis Dyer grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ranae Keller Blackburn, Sean and Robert McCoy, Charles and Hannah Roland,William Keller, Ashley Keller, Amy Dyer, Madison, Mason, and Mackenzie Reherman, Erica Dyer Mann, Ethan and Karly Mann, Jack Dyer, Casey and Tristan Dyer, Corie Gilbert, Erica Klutts, Kelli Rightmire, Michelle and Tiffany Jones, Mark Brock, Angela Kayser, John, Andrea, Joanna and Memory Kayser; numerous great-great grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Services and interment in Ninnekah Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
