Lavonda Kay Davis

d. October 19, 2022

A memorial service for LaVonda Kay Davis, 69, of Chickasha, will be held at a later date by the family.

LaVonda Kay Davis was born May 23, 1953 in Santa Paula, California, the daughter of James Forest Snow and Mildred Nell (Glover) Fisher. She passed from this life on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Growing up, LaVonda lived in Guymon and Ada, but for most of her life she lived in the Cement and Chickasha area.

She married Bobby Lee Cooper and they had two sons together, Brian and Bradly. For the most part, she was a stay-at-home mom, raising her sons. She had also worked as a custodian at a school and at the Cement Senior Nutrition Center.

On January 27, 2003, she and Clarence Davis married and shared all of life’s moments together. She was stubborn, “ruled the roost” and enjoyed staying at home. In her younger years, she liked doing ceramics.

She was preceded in death by her father James Forest Snow, mother Mildred Nell Fisher, step-dad Bennie Fisher; sisters Rosa J. Clift and Teresa Cogburn, and nephew Justin Snow.

Survivors include her husband Clarence Davis of the home; sons Brian Lee Cooper and wife Michelle of Chickasha and Bradly Keith Cooper and wife Melissa of Depew; sisters Laura Ponsford of Mesquite, Texas and Cheryl Fisher of Chickasha; brother Randy Snow of Pioneer; grandchildren Celeste and Kyle Morris, Dalton Bullington, Emilee Hammons and Nicole Wright; three great-grandchildren Garrett, Kayleigh, and Zayne; Clarence’s children Kristen Davis, Dewaina Halleck and Sara Davis and his grandchildren Anthony, Hayley, Jeremiah, John, Zachariah, and Jesse; and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
