Private services will be held for Larry W. Cunningham, 69, of Chickasha.
Larry W. Cunningham was born on October 3, 1947 in Roswell New Mexico, the son of W.G. Cunningham and Rujoyce (Hubbard) Cunningham. He died October 31, 2016 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Larry grew up in Roswell, New Mexico and attended school there. He joined the U. S. Army and served for 20 years, retiring from the military in 1985. He was stationed in Okinawa Japan, Korea, Germany, Vietnam and the United States. Larry was proud to serve his country.
He married Shirley Howell on June 18, 1970 in Anniston, Alabama and they were married for 46 years.
After retiring from the military, Larry was employed at various mechanic shops working on cars and trucks. He later went to Heat and Air school and was employed with Lightner’s Discount Foods maintaining their refrigeration units.
As a young man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Standley Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Tammy Cunningham of Hobbs, New Mexico; son, David Cunningham of Chickasha; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Chris Carter of Weleetka; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Clinton and Tressa Cunningham; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Clip Carpenter; sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Larry Bean; many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
