Funeral Services for Larry Vincent Charlson, 71, of Ninnekah, will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Charlson officiating and Sue Lykins assisting.
Larry Vincent Charlson was born May 16, 1942 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Edwin T. Charlson and Juanita Marie (Cobb) Charlson. He died at his home in Ninnekah on Thursday, January 16, 2014.
Larry grew up in Ninnekah and graduated from Ninnekah Public Schools.
In 1961, he married Alva Ann Boswell, and they were blessed with a son, Eddie, and a daughter, Sondra.
Larry began working in the oilfield with his father at a very young age, where he retired after 40 years of service. Later he began working for Lindsay Public Schools and retired from there in 2007 to raise cattle and enjoy his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry enjoyed collecting cars, old and new, but he loved and enjoyed his family most of all. He was a very generous son, brother, husband, father and PaPa. He will be missed every day.
He was preceded in death by both parents; two nephews, Chuck and Greg Charlson; one sister-in-law, Judy Charlson.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Alva Charlson; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Anita Charlson of Norman; daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Hoyt Williams of Ninnekah; two brothers, Charles Charlson of Perryton, Texas, and Wiley Charlson and Kacey of Chickasha; grandchildren, Brandi Carroll and her husband Jeff, Caitlin and Savannah Charlson, Braydin Williams, Zac Williams and his wife Amanda, Cody Williams and his wife Deandra; great-grandchildren, Stonie and Hazen Carroll, and Lorelei Williams; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
