Funeral services for Larry McGill, Sr., 65, of Chickasha, will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating and Terry Jones assisting.
Larry McGill, Sr. was born August 8, 1949 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Sam Dexton McGill and Kathryn “Pug” Augusta (Foust) McGill. He passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 in Oklahoma City.
Larry grew up in Chickasha, graduating from Chickasha High School in 1967. After high school he was attending USAO when he was drafted into the United States Navy, where he served for two years.
He married Loretta Townley on April 8, 1970 in Chickasha, and they were married for 45 years.
Larry had been employed with Dr. Pepper Bottling and Coke and Pepsi as a route salesman. He later went to work in the oilfields as a driller, where he was employed for over ten years. His latest employment was with Grady County Jail as a correctional officer for ten years, retiring in 2011.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and a granddaughter, Haile Nicole McGill.
He leaves behind his wife, Loretta, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Ricky England of Fletcher; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Trent Wildman of Pocasset; son and daughter-in-law, Larry McGill, Jr. and Darcie of Chickasha; daughter, Melissa McGill of Arlington, Kansas; grandchildren, Joseph Kepp, Justice, Jarrod, and Sheila England, Kyle McGill, Jessica, Blake, and Emily Wildman, and Nicole Opp; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles and Eric McGill; sister, Wanda Webster; and many extended family and friends.
Services and interment in Amber Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
