Funeral services for Larry Joe Menefee, 71, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Grand Assembly of God Church with Pastor Gary Rogers officiating.
Larry Joe Menefee was born August 8, 1946 in Anadarko, Oklahoma, the son of Junior and Wynona (Walker) Menefee. He passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Chickasha High School. He joined the United States Army Reserves. When he was younger, he worked as a mechanic for Ralph and Sons Oldsmobile and built horse trailers for several years. He then worked for General Motors, retiring in 2006.
On November 4, 1965, Larry married the love of his life, Patricia Owen, and she preceded him in death in 2013. From this union, they had two sons, Larry Don and Robin Lynn.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was very active in the church, serving as deacon and the Royal Rangers leader, and helping anywhere he was needed.
Larry married Jean Martin in November 2014 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. He enjoyed camping, antique car restoration, car shows, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his first wife, Patricia and his son, Robin Lynn Menefee, and his brother, Gary Menefee.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, of the home; son, Larry Don Menefee; granddaughter, Larrci, and great-grandson, Axl, to be born in June 2018; brother-in-law, Tommy Owen and wife, Glenda; sister-in-law, Peggy Ramming and husband, Roy; sister-in-law, Sharon Stumpf and husband, Raymond; sister-in-law, Cindy Thoma and husband, Larry; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Gracemont Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
