Funeral services for Kenneth Edwin Hunt, 80, of Chickasha, will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Hope Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church with Billy Adams officiating.
Kenneth Edwin Hunt was born February 8, 1938 in Cogar, Oklahoma, the son of Carl Hunt and Doris (Powell) Hunt. He passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Kenneth grew up in Cogar, and graduated from Amber High School in 1957. That same year, he joined the Air Force in 1957 and served his country for twenty years, retiring in 1977. He married Elta Barnett and from this union were born two children Shelley and Ricky.
In 2005, Kenneth reconnected with his childhood sweetheart Martha Rodgers Dickey and on March 16, 2005 they married.
Kenneth loved music, enjoyed playing the guitar, and developing his own music. He was a faithful member of Hope Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charlie Hunt and Eugene Ray.
Survivors include his wife, Martha of the home; daughter Shelley Jones of Ninnekah; son Ricky Hunt of Duncan; step-daughters Penny Romero and Barbara Sumner and husband, Roger, all of Chickasha; step-son Michael Dickey of Chickasha; sister Carlene Morgan of Texas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Hazel Dell Cemetery near Minco, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
