Funeral service for Kedrick “Keddy” James, age 84, of Chickasha, will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma with Reverend Scott Keneda officiating.

Keddy James was born December 30, 1931 in Arcadia, Louisiana to William Eugene James and Willie Kees (Chandler) James. He went to be with our Lord, February 15, 2016.

Keddy graduated from Homer High School in 1949. He attended Louisiana Tech for one semester before joining the United States Air Force and spent two years in Montana on the Due Line, then was deployed to North Africa for two years. Keddy was discharged in 1957 and went to work for FAA in Oklahoma City in February 1958, retiring after nearly 30 years.

He joined Capitol Hill United Methodist Church where he met Yuvanah Rosebrook and they were married at her family home in Oklahoma City on January 24, 1959. They moved to Chickasha in 1972 and joined Epworth United Methodist Church. He was very active with the Choir, the TV Ministry, and a strong supporter of the United Methodist Women’s group.

He and Yuvanah enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with family.

Keddy was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Yuvanah, of the home; three sons and their wives, William and Barbara James, Kenneth and Roberta James and Benjaman and Dana James; nine grandchildren, Rebecca Thompson, Cody Lind, Wesley James, Brittany James, Kayleigh James, Brandon James, Ethan James, Stanton James and Abbey James; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Clois James and Sam Papa; two brothers and their wives, Vernon and Ruth James and Eldon and Frances James; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

A visitation time with the family will be at Ferguson Funeral Home, Wednesday, February 17 th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Epworth United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 518, Chickasha, OK 73023.

Interment following the services will be at 2:00 p.m. in Rose Hill Burial Park located in Oklahoma City.

Services and interment are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
