Funeral services for Kathleen Elaine Askins, 76, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Southern Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Kent Hibbard officiating.
Kathleen Elaine Askins was born on September 1, 1944 in Tacoma, Washington to Sherman Victor Perry, Jr. and Lois (Leatham) Perry. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 25, 2020 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Kathleen was raised by her dad and step-mom, Sherman and Mary Perry. She grew up and graduated high school in Texas. She went to business school at night for accounting.
She married Charles Dockins and to this union her two daughters, Sonia and Misty were born. They remember making many memorable trips back and forth from Oklahoma to California to visit family.
She loved numbers and working as an accountant. She was first and foremost a firm believer in Christ and a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church.
On June 20, 1989, Kathleen married Kenneth Askins in Lake Tahoe, California and his daughters, Michelle and Krista became her girls also. They had 29 years together until his death in 2018.
She enjoyed spending time at the lake with Kenneth. She loved cats and was called “Kitty Cat Grandma” by some of the grandchildren. She also loved all other animals and would do anything she could for them. Kathleen loved spending time with all her girls and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lois; father Sherman Perry, Jr.; step-mom Mary Perry; sister Mary Jo Smith; brother Sherman V. Perry; and husband Kenneth Askins.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Sonia and Dallas Hayes of Amber, Misty and Chris Brown of Blanchard, Michelle Dewey of Chickasha, and Krista Gray of Verden; sister and brother-in-law Ella and Doug Clements of Arizona; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Susan Perry of Texas; sisters-in-law Faye George of Chickasha and Connie Lasseter and husband Rick of Chickasha; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be at Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
