A graveside funeral service for Kathleen Denise Tims, 75, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Steve Clifton officiating.
Denise Tims was born on June 03, 1948 in Gainesville, Texas to Henry Eaton Draughon and Iris Kathleen (Burney) Draughon. She passed from this life on Wednesday, January 24, 2023 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Denise grew up in Marietta and was a drum major for the Marietta Marching Band. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1966. She then attended Murray State College in Tishomingo.
On April 12, 1988, she married Timothy Bixter Tims and they shared the last 35 years together.
Denise was very smart and a hard worker. She was employed at various banking industry firms throughout her banking career including the Federal Reserve.
Later in life Tim and Denise owned and operated Jimmy’s Cleaners for over twenty years.
Denise loved to read, enjoyed life on the farm, loved her dogs and was an avid Oklahoma Sooners Fan but was most known for being Tim’s sidekick!
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Tim on January 31, 2023.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Marianne Tims of Littleton, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law Melanie and Jerry LaPolla of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister and brother-in-law Jo Ellen and Steve Clifton of Meridian, Texas; grandchildren Danny LaPolla and wife Olivia of Las Vegas, Nevada; Ashton Tims of Littleton, Colorado; Ryan LaPolla of Las Vegas, Nevada; and great-granddaughter Sienna LaPolla; Nieces Dede Boaz of Colleyville, Texas and Katie Wilson of Ft. Worth, Texas; nephew Chirs Clifton of Stephenville, Texas; and many great- nieces and nephews, and other extended family and many friends.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
