Funeral services for June Yvonne Chambers-Glazier, 77, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Blankinship officiating.
June Yvonne Chambers-Glazier, known by most as Yvonne, was born June 4, 1938 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elbert and Winnie (Johnson) Chambers. She died Saturday, December 5, 2015 in Oklahoma City.
Yvonne grew up in Chickasha and after graduating from Chickasha High School, she attended Oklahoma College for Women.
She married Richard Daniel Glazier in 1957 and from this union her children, Terry, Dan, and Cheryl were born.
In the 1960’s, the family moved to Midwest City, where Yvonne obtained her LPN. Over the years she worked for St. Anthony Hospital, Midwest City Regional, and OU Medical Center. She later worked as a home health nurse, retiring in the 1990’s.
She loved gardening and walking the lakeshores of Oklahoma. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved being a part of any outdoor activities with her children and family. Every fall she would pick pecans, shell them and bake with them.
Yvonne was preceded in death by both parents, four sisters, one brother, and a daughter, Cheryl.
Survivors are her son, Terry Glazier and his wife, Cindy, of Midwest City; son, Daniel Glazier of Moore; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Neal and Linda Chambers and Jerry and Jeanie Chambers; a sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Glen Bailey; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Services and interment in Rose Hill Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
