Funeral services for Judy Boudreaux, 71, of Guthrie, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.

Judy Boudreaux was born on Wednesday, August 16, 1944 in Verden, Oklahoma to James William Beary Manuel and Mary Elizabeth (Wallace) Manuel. She passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at her home in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Judy was born Ruth Gearldene Manuel, J.B. and Mary’s thirteenth child and ninth daughter. Growing up she was given the nickname Judy Gail.

She grew up southeast of Chickasha and attended elementary school at Union Hill and later graduated from Chickasha High School in 1963.

She met the love of her life, Nolan Joseph Boudreaux, Jr., and on her eighteenth birthday he asked her to be his wife. They married on December 22, 1962 in Chickasha. Shortly after marriage they moved to Oklahoma City then later settled in Edmond, where they raised their two sons. Eventually they retired in Guthrie.

Over the years she was employed at several restaurants as a head server. She later attended

Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech, and earned a certificate in bookkeeping.

From Judy’s memoirs, “Nolan and I are retired and are living a pretty good life. I like to work in my flower bed, enjoy spending time with my boys and daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. I also enjoy meeting with all my sisters and brother once a month for our birthday luncheons.  I love to play solitaire on my computer.  I go play bingo once a week.  I also enjoy taking care of all seven of our animals and the wild ones that we feed out back.” She also mentioned that she loved spending her evenings playing Wahoo over coffee with Nolan.

She was preceded in death by both parents; son, Kevin Boudreaux; sisters, Molly McConnell, Dorothy Robinson, Ruby Ferguson and Loretta Scott; and brother, Jimmy Manuel.

Survivors include her husband, Nolan, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Valerie Boudreaux of Yukon; sisters, Dovie Clouse of Moore, Betty Smith of Weatherford, Lovie Tannehill of Ninnekah and Walcie Scott of Yukon; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Ruth Manuel of Chickasha; three granddaughters, Briana Posey and her husband, Matthew Posey, Brittany Boudreaux and Bethany Boudreaux; one grandson, Brandon Boudreaux; one great-granddaughter, Cadence Boudreaux; and many friends and extended family.

Services and interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral home.
