Funeral services for Joyce Jean Gray, 76, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Full Gospel Church with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.
Joyce Jean Gray was born April 11, 1939 in Buskirk, Kentucky, the daughter of Lee H. Hatfield and Marie (Horn) Hatfield. She died on Monday, February 15, 2016.
As the daughter of a coalminer, Joyce grew up around Kentucky, West Virginia and Ohio, getting her education to the 8 th grade. She worked as a waitress at various times during her life.
She met Kenneth Royce Gray in Dallas, Texas and they were married there on May 18, 1963. They moved to Oklahoma where they raised three children and Joyce lived here until her death.
Before she became ill, she enjoyed working outside, reading, watching TV, and spending time with her family.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth R. Gray; sister, Christine Hatfield; brother, James Hatfield; granddaughter, Miranda Gray; and great-granddaughter, Teagan Gray.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Nathan Bailey of Chickasha; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Rick Dunwoody of Tool, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Paulette Gray of Chickasha; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Rhonda Gray of Chickasha; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Services and interment in Cement Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
