Funeral services for Joshawa Ray Moore-Shelton will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 in the Full Gospel Church with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.
Joshawa Ray Moore-Shelton was born October 24, 1985 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He died on Friday, April 9, 2021 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Josh grew up in the Chickasha area, attending Chickasha and Friend schools and graduating from Amber-Pocasset in 2004. He was involved in the Special Olympics for many years. He was very dedicated to his church and loved volunteering at youth camp.
He had a heart of gold and would literally give you the shirt off his back. Josh will always be remembered for his great smile. He collected “sodie” pop cans for extra money and loved to go to Walmart where everyone knew him. He was a jokester and enjoyed being the center of attention. He loved to be around his family and his dogs and his nieces and nephews were his life.
Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents Flossie Mead, Jewell and Howard Shelton, Hayden and Wanda M. Lane, and Billy Ray Moore, Sr; uncles Paul Kuykendall, Terry Cunningham and James Moore.
Survivors include his mom and dad, Clairessa and Riley Shelton of Blanchard; brothers Jeremy Shelton and wife Julian of Chickasha, Jered Shelton and wife Amie of Norman, David Buchanan and wife Treva of Chickasha; sister Misty (Shelton) Abramson of Duncan; grandfathers William David Buchanan and Walter Mead; nieces and nephews Riley, Paisley, Makai, Maliha, Dakota Jed, Felicity, Claire and Addison; girlfriend Jenny Dutton; roommate and close friend David Coleman; aunts and uncles David and J.D. Lynn Buchanan, Lily and Barry Thompson, Brian and Sherry Buchanan, Galvin and Judy Kuykendall, Pat and Terry Gouge, Diane Kuykendall, Debbie Shelton-Smith, Barbara and Steve Gardes, Fred and Lanell Shelton, Dale Shelton, Patricia Sample, Dana and Tyson Raash, Jamie Lane-Ross and Tyson Ross and Velta Cook; numerous other extended family; his church family at Full Gospel and his COCI and SYA family.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
