Johnnie Doyle Riddle, 85, of Chickasha, Oklahoma passed away on July 15, 2016 in Chickasha.
Johnnie Doyle Riddle was born in Melrose, New Mexico on September 20, 1930, the son of Johnnie Riddle and Neda Oral (Thornton) Riddle.
He grew up in Anadarko, Oklahoma, Caddo County. He joined the Army on September 21, 1949 and transferred to the Army Reserve on April 10, 1950.
He worked several years at a large sand pit. He was a heavy equipment operator with several construction companies also helping build the Fort Cobb Dam.
He married Ruth Trent and later married Margaret Herbert.
Johnnie loved to fish, hunt and trap wild pigs and he loved working with his hands making wood crafts. He enjoyed working on boats and boat motors, making big gardens and would till gardens for other people.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Herbert) Riddle; parents, Johnnie and Neda Riddle; two daughters, Diane Riddle and Neda Marie Riddle; two brothers, Walter Ray Riddle and Luther Aaron Riddle.
Survivors include daughter, Donneda Maral of Yuba City, California; son, Darrel Riddle of Yuba City, California; step-daughter, Doris Olmsted of Kemp, Texas; three sisters, Vera Branam of Little Rock Arkansas, Neda Thelma Saathoff and Petrovia Elrod of Anadarko, Oklahoma; brother, Clint “Butch” D. Riddle of Kingston, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
