Graveside services for John Wesley Foley, 78, of Pauls Valley, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in the Rose Hill Cemetery located in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
John Wesley Foley was born February 11, 1942 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Frank Wesley Foley and Beeler (Roberts) Foley. He had a twin brother, Joe David Foley and a sister, Mary Ann Burruss. He passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in Oklahoma City.
John grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School. He then went to OSU getting a degree and then attended pharmacy school at OU.
In the mid 1960’s he married Rowena Hightower and to this union they were blessed with their son, Joe.
John joined the United States Air Force and finished his military service in the late 1970’s. He owned and operated several pharmacies, including one in Tulsa and The Rexall Drug in Chickasha.
In 1986, he and Ruth “Elaine” Foley were married and in the mid 1990’s they bought Punkin’s BBQ in Pauls Valley and ran it for around 25 years.
For the last several years, John had worked part-time as a pharmacist in Lindsay.
When he was younger, he enjoyed horses, rodeoing, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing poker.
John was preceded in death by both parents, brother Joe David Foley and sister Mary Ann Burruss.
Survivors include Elaine Foley; son Joe Foley of Tuttle; four grandchildren Alexsandra “Hope” Foley of Denver, Colorado, Ashleigh Foley of Dibble, Jarrod Foley and wife Ally of Bridge Creek, and Autumn Mayberry of Newcastle; great-grandchildren Trey Green, Cyarra Green, Axzl Foley, Haizel Foley, Braden Mayberry, Caden Mayberry, and Alexis Mayberry; and other extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
