Funeral services for John Paul Smallwood, 24, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Grand Assembly of God Church with Mike Bates officiating and Gary Rogers assisting.

John Paul Smallwood was born on February, 18, 1992 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Paul Alan Smallwood and Tonya Lynn Mayrhofen. He died on Monday, April 4, 2016 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

John grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 2010. He attended Canadian Valley Technology Center and became a certified welder. Right out of high school he worked as a welder, then worked on the pipeline for a while and most recently worked as an electrical apprentice with Bobcat Electrical.

He enjoyed fishing and also liked to hunt. John loved spending time with his family and friends. His loved ones will miss his blue eyes and great smile.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Terry Mayrhofen, Walter Bristow, and Aaron Gabriel; grandmothers, Mary Smallwood and Betty Bristow; aunt, Judy Teer; uncles, Jeff Mayrhofen and Randy Gabriel.

Survivors are his mother and step-father, Tonya and Myron Loman, of Chickasha; father and step-mother, Paul and Tonya Smallwood, of Chickasha; sisters, Misty Loman, Brittany Kelley and Nicole Kelley, all of Chickasha; grandmothers, Judy Mayrhofen and Shirley Gabriel; great-grandmother, Marie Dearden; aunts and uncles, Jami and Jim Middleton, Chris Teer, David and Cheryl Turner, Gail and Don Evans, Angie and Tommy Bunch and Kevin and Paula Bristow; numerous cousins, friends and extended family.

Services and interment at Fairlawn Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
