Funeral services for Jessey James Climer, 93, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Full Gospel Church with Sister Alice Wendling officiating. Jessey James Climer was born on December 2, 1921 in Wagoner, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Randolf Climer and Mary (Moss) Climer. He died Monday, June 1, 2015 at his home in Chickasha. Jessey grew up and attended schools at numerous towns throughout Oklahoma. He joined the United States Navy in 1945, during World War II, and was stationed at Norfolk, Virginia for basic training. He was then assigned to the USS Shangri-La and witnessed the aftermath of Pearl Harbor. After the war, he worked in construction, remodeling many of the storefronts in downtown Chickasha and mounting the clock on the First National Bank. Jessey met Reta Tryon, and they were married on April 16, 1949 in Chickasha. She was the love of his life and he loved her cooking. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, going camping, and wood working. His passion was shopping at garage sales and thrift stores. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. His grandson, Cody, led him to the Lord in 2013 and had the honor of baptizing him last year. Jessey was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Johnny, Bill, Herschel, and Paul Climer, and two sisters, Lilly and Ollie Climer. Survivors are his wife, Reta, of the home; son, James Climer, and his children, Rene and Cathy; daughter, Reta Ann (Climer) Englebretson and her children, Brian Meeks and his wife, Chellie; Kevin Meeks and his wife, Shannon; Cody Englebretson and his wife, Kasey; and Eric Englebretson; son, Ronnie Jess Climer and his wife, Judy, and their children, Ronnie Lynn Climer and Jessie Charles Climer; ten great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. Services and interment in Fairlawn Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
