Funeral services for Jerry John Wehling, 76, of Chickasha, will be held Friday, May 12 th , 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Esten Leonard officiating.

Jerry John Wehling was born June 24, 1940 in Hennessey, Oklahoma. He was the third child born to John Wehling and Clara Driskell-Wehling.  Growing up in Enid, he enjoyed participating in basketball, baseball, football and track where his high school records for distance running held for several decades.

Jerry and Janice have a small farm southwest of Chickasha where they have lived for over thirty-five years. Jerry worked as Meat Market Manager for Safeway and then Homeland.  After retiring from Homeland, he started a successful roofing company based in Chickasha.

He was a member of the Local 1000 and the Bass Fisherman’s Club and he was a founding member of the Maranatha Baptist Church.

Jerry formed many friendships over the years. He will be remembered as a beloved family man and an inspiration to all who knew him.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara Wehling; sister, Glenda Carver; brother, Dewayne Wehling; daughter, Shaunna Ward and grandson, Bradley Stumpf.

Surviving him are his wife, Janice Cole-Wehling, of the home; daughters, Cindy Reyes, Tammy Ramirez, Suzanne Roberts and Debbie Stumpf; and stepchildren, Lisa Ramsey and Jerry Ray Osborn; fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren; his former wife, Joyce McVicker, mother of his five daughters; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
