Funeral Services for Jeffery Burton, 75, of Ninnekah, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Hatfield officiating and Kim Hayes assisting.
Jeffery Burton was born November 13, 1938 in Chickasha to Robert Burton and Mary Opal (Richardson) Burton. He died Monday, May 19, 2014 in Ninnekah.
Jeff grew up in the surrounding Chickasha area and graduated from Verden High School in 1957. On January 15, 1959, he married Barnia Mae Hunter in Anadarko.
He worked at various jobs, and then became a carpenter working for Purdue Industries. Later Jeff owned and operated his own carpentry business, B & B Cabinets, retiring in 2006.
When the children were young, Jeff enjoyed taking his family to the lake and on foliage tours across the state. He also liked working on the cars at the stock car races.
He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Robert Burton; mother, Mary Opal Lawson; step-father, Albert Lawson; daughter, Tonya Gail Burton; and brother, Joe Robert Burton.
Survivors include his wife, of the home, Barnia Mae Burton; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Robert Conder of Chickasha, Terrie and Don Bogard of Cocoa Beach, Florida; Vikki and Travis VanDeventer of Ninnekah; grandchildren, Brandon, Trista, and Tyler Bogard, Derek Burton and his fiancé, Brandi Mainka, and Tiffany Nolan; three great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
