Memorial services for James Wayne Blaine, 62, of Amber, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at SonRise Baptist Church with Bob Gordon officiating.

James Wayne Blaine, known as Jim or J.W., was born on January 28, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Reynold James Blaine and Opal Laverne (Blankenship) Blaine. He passed away surrounded by his family Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his home in Amber, Oklahoma.

Jim grew up in Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School in 1972. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers Organization and played for two years, then returned to Oklahoma.

He married Debbie Bonsall and from this union his son, Ryan, was born.

Jim worked as a machinist and field service technician for Cameron Ironworks. He worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 25 years. He went on to work for Flintco as an assistant superintendent, retiring in 2008 due to health problems.

On October 13, 1980, Jim married Reginia Carole Morrison and they had 36 years together.

He liked fishing, golf and old movies, especially John Wayne movies. He loved sports of all kinds and had coached various sports for each of his children and some of his grandchildren. He was proud of his American Indian heritage and his Pawnee name was Ku-rux Sa-waaki, which means “Young Spotted Bear”.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Reynold James Blaine.

He was loved and will be missed by his wife of the home, Reginia; daughters, Dana James and husband, Ben, of Chickasha and Lydia Blaine of Amber; sons, Ryan Blaine of Mustang and Levi Blaine and wife, Adrienne, of Amber; grandchildren, Ethan James, Stanton James, Abbey James and Ryleigh Blaine; mother, Opal Martin of Oklahoma City; and other extended family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 907 S Detroit Ave Ste 1006, Tulsa, OK 74120.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
