James Melvin Foreman was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on February 5, 1939, the son of Bennie Boyd Foreman and Willie Mae Foreman. He passed away on January 31, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
James grew up in Chickasha until around age five, when he moved to California with his family. In 1957, he joined the United States Navy and served for three years until 1960.
After his military service, James married Louise Libby on March 10, 1962 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Bell Gardens, California.
In 1979, James moved back to Chickasha with his family. He worked for Maremont and then Green Bay Packaging, where he retired in 2000.
He loved golf and his true passion was reworking old cars, he always had a car project he was working on. He liked working with mechanical things and robotics.
James was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Boyd Foreman, Jr. and a sister, Gail Osburn.
Survivors include his wife, Louise, of the home; son, Christian Foreman and wife, Elesha, of Chickasha; daughter, Tracey Austin and husband, David, of Chickasha; grandchild, Jacob T. Fogarty; brother, Ronald Foreman and wife, Robin; sister, Oleta Dyson and husband, Robbie; sister-in-law, Faith Heidtman; brother-in-law, Alfred Libby and wife, Linda; aunt, Alice Roberts of Chickasha; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
