Memorial services will be held for James Hansel Littrell, 89, of Marlow, on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Lawton VA Center, 501 Flowermound Road, Lawton, Oklahoma with Pastor David Woods of Glory Bound Church in Marlow officiating.
James Hansel Littrell was born May 22, 1926 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Wade and Marie (Hanks) Littrell. He died Friday, July 3, 2015 at the VA Center in Lawton, Oklahoma.
James grew up in Marlow and attended Marlow High School. He was drafted into the United States Army before he could graduate and later received an honorary diploma from Marlow High School. He was a veteran of WWII and served two years in the Philippines.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a great shot; he once killed two crows with one rifle shot.
James was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alton Wade “Big Jim” Littrell.
Survivors include his wife, Orva Gene; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Katie Littrell, of Claremore; daughter, Elaine Littrell, of Ardmore; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Don Rose, of Ardmore; step-daughter, Tina Miller, of Lawton; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Littrell and his wife, Sally, of Marlow; and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
