Memorial services for James Eldon Rodgers, 74, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
James Eldon Rodgers, known as Jim, was born November 16, 1945 in Montebello, near Los Angeles, California. He was the son of James E. Rodgers and Cecilia Adeline (Rolands) Johnson. He passed away at his home in Chickasha on February 3, 2020.
Jim grew up and attended schools in California. He enlisted in the United States Army as a young man and was stationed in Germany and did a tour in Vietnam.
He worked at various jobs over the years. In more recent years, before his retirement, he worked as a general contractor in commercial construction in the Midland, Texas area. Jim came to Oklahoma and settled in Chickasha several years ago.
He was preceded in death by both parents, three sisters Donna Ferguson, Patrica Walker and Kathy Hasty, and his wife Eva Rodgers.
Survivors include his daughters Montana, Larijuana, Sherine, Sharon and Tia; son Eric; step-daughter Susie Davidson; brother Ed Johanns; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Services, cremation arrangements and interment of cremains at Ft. Sill National Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
