Funeral services for James Edward Airington, 77, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Kim Hayes officiating.
James Edward Airington, known as Jim, was born November 16, 1940 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Orvis Samuel Airington and Exa Viola (Palmer) Airington. He passed away August 8, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Jim grew up and attended schools in Chickasha, graduating in 1959. He worked for AT&T for 35 years, retiring in March of 2001.
On July 8, 1961, he married Judy Sue (Marple) Airington in Chickasha, Oklahoma and they were married for 57 years and one month.
Jim enjoyed trains, woodworking, and was certified in gunsmithing. He also liked to feed the squirrels in his backyard and loved animals, especially his dog, Bronson Duke of Earl, who he spoiled rotten and the kids called “Dukie”. He loved his family deeply.
He was preceded in death by both parents, sister, Marion Free and nephew, Michael Free.
Survivors include his wife, Judy, of the home; daughter, Staci (Airington) Harris and husband, Jerry, of Byars; son, Scott Edward Airington and wife, Stephanie, of Chickasha; grandchildren, Tyler Airington and wife, Candas, Nathan Harris, Sabrina Green, and Kent Hodges; seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson; and other extended family and friends.
Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
