Graveside services for Iva L. Penick, 93, of Chickasha will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Cement Cemetery with R.C. Lewis officiating.
Iva L. Penick was born August 9, 1920 in Cement to Alva Floyd and Ila (Morris) Floyd. She died Sunday, February 16, 2014 in Chickasha.
She grew up and attended schools in Oklahoma City and Cement.
Iva married her first husband, Dub Vickers on July 25, 1937 in Purcell. Their daughter, Dolores Jolene, was born to this union. Iva married Jack Penick on August 2, 1941 in Lawton.
Iva was a faithful Christian lady, who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a great spiritual inspiration for her family and friends. For many years, until her health declined, she was a faithful member of The Grand Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; her first husband, Dub Vickers; her second husband, Jack Penick; her daughter, Dolores “Jolene” Bongard; and her grandson, Benjamin Womack; two sisters, Pat Kopp and Helen Hooks; four brothers, Leo, Gene, Dean, and Billy Joe Floyd.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Tommy McHugh of Chickasha; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Carol Floyd of Norman; grandsons, Scott Womack and his wife, Susan of Rusk, Texas, Jackie Womack and his wife of the Houston, Texas area, and Dennis Womack of the Houston, Texas area; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
