Funeral services for Inez “June” Hendrix, 92, of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Ezell Nelson officiating.
Inez June (Anderson) Hendrix was born on June 8, 1929 in Jumbo, Oklahoma to Young Anderson and Caldonia Elizabeth (Evans) Anderson. She passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 surrounded by generations of her loved ones at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
June grew up in Antlers, Oklahoma and graduated from Antlers High School at the age of 16. She worked at the local soda shop, where she met the love of her life, Loyd Lee Hendrix. They were married January 18, 1947 in Antlers and they shared 62 years of marriage. They enjoyed dancing at the local Willows Restaurant as well as spending summers with family at Lake Murray.
June, known by all as “Grandmother”, dedicated her life to her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, raising four generations of children. She was a loving and devoted mother to all and it is rare to find someone that touched so many lives in so many ways. She was a faithful member of New Life Christian Church. She loved everyone and was the biggest cheerleader at her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. She was also an avid OU sports fan. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, sewing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents Young and Callie Anderson; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Ray Floyd; daughters-in-law Cindy Hendrix and Donna Hendrix; and her husband Loyd Hendrix in 2009.
She is survived by her loved ones: son Loyd Hendrix, Jr. of Luther; daughter Kristin Hendrix and husband Greg Rivera of Boca Raton, Florida; son Dennis Hendrix and wife Margaret of Midland, Texas; grandchildren and their spouses Russell and Heather Floyd of Los Angeles, California, Amber and Arnold Wehrenberg of Waukee, Iowa, Carmen Hendrix and Kris French of Elgin, Leslie and Michael Edwards of Chickasha, Jordyn Hendrix of Dallas, Texas, Mark Hendrix of Austin, Texas, Krystal Rivera of Boca Raton, Florida and Fiora Rivera of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren Jarvis Floyd, Desmond Floyd, Kelsee Crawford, Colby Crawford, Chasen and Hope Allison, Kaylee Allison, Bree Allison, Alysa Tennery, Braydon Tennery, Clay Edwards, Mila Edwards, Myca Edwards, Gio Rivera, Anthony Rivera, and Landon Rivera; great-great grandchildren Adilyn and Kyler Allison; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
