Funeral services will be held for Imogene Van Bolinger, 69, of Chickasha at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Bible Baptist Church with Howie Jackson officiating.
Imogene Van Bolinger was born on March 20, 1943, in Maryville, Tennessee to Obie Jefferson Henry & Elizabeth Marie (Headrick) Henry. She died on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Norman.
Imogene grew up in Maryville, TN. She married the love of her life, William Ray Bolinger, on July 8, 1959, in Maryville. He joined the U.S. Army and for the next twenty years they lived all over the world, including Spain, Germany, Tennessee and Oklahoma. They settled in Lawton after he retired in 1980.
Imogene was employed with Cantu Food Services as a dietary cook in the mess hall at Fort Sill, retiring in 1996. In 2002, she moved to Chickasha where she attended Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cooking family meals. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Imogene looked forward to going to heaven to be reunited with her one true love.
She was preceded in death by: both parents; husband, William Bolinger on February 5, 1996; and one brother, Obie Jefferson Henry, Jr.
Survivors include: son, Rickey Bolinger; daughter, Tammey Barton & husband Steve; son, Rodney Bolinger & wife Brandy; daughter, Dana Sanchez; grandchildren, Kursten Burton & husband Jaron, Steven Barton, Kaley Bolinger, Trevor Barton, Konar Sanchez, and Katie Sanchez; great-grandson, Daeton Burton; sister, Jane Henry; sisters-in-law, Sue Bolinger and Betty Staley & husband Dave; brother-in-law, Earl Bolinger; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. in the Fort Sill Post Cemetery in Fort Still, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
