Viewing and Visitation for Ida Lou Scott, 82, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home.

Ida Lou (Ginn) Scott was born on April 20, 1934 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Alvin Roy Ginn and Beatrice May (Joslin) Ginn. She passed away on August 3, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Ida grew up and attended schools in Chickasha. Over the years she extended her schooling, attending college and receiving several certifications.

On December 16, 1950, she married Harold Eudell Scott in Pocasset, Oklahoma. They lived in Kansas for a time, and then moved to Texas in 1967. She worked as a cook in the public school system at several different schools.

She liked reading and was an excellent cook. She was blessed with three grandchildren within one year and absolutely loved when her whole family would gather at her home for a meal and spend time together. She and Harold loved to square dance together and she was actively involved in the Blue Star Masons.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Harold, in 1998; sister, Jean Jeffries; and brother, Roy Ginn.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Rephsie Scott, of Euless, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Deane and David Parrish of Mesquite, Texas, Debbye Jene and Ralph Lee of Cedar Hill, Texas and Bettye Loue and Jerry Spratlen of Llano, Texas; sisters, Peggy Scott of Chickasha, Betty “Sue” Pedroza of San Antonio, Texas and Geraldine Pruett of Piedmont; a special thanks to nephews, Richard and Robert Scott of Chickasha; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

A casually dressed memorial interment will be held by the family in Amber Cemetery on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
