Funeral Services for Howard Wesley Capps, 85, of Chickasha will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Lt. James Biddix officiating.
Howard Wesley Capps was born September 22, 1928 in Erick, Oklahoma, the son of Archie Everett Capps and Nora Jane (Johnson) Capps. He died Monday, January 20, 2014 in Chickasha.
Howard grew up the son of migrant farm workers and moved from town to town throughout the states of Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. He attended many different schools throughout these states. He settled in the Chickasha area in the early 1960’s.
He worked at various employments, one of which was Linville Trailers for about fifteen years. Howard loved growing tomatoes and peppers. He would grow them and give the plants and produce to friends and family.
He will be loved and missed by his family. These last twenty-five years he was greatly loved and cared for by his wife, Linda, and her children.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Everett Capps; and three sons.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Chickasha; numerous children and step-children; two sisters, Wanda Turney of Chickasha, and Mearlene Henshaw of Noble; one brother, Bill Neely of Fort Worth, Texas; other step-siblings; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
