A funeral service for Holly Lee Ferguson, 72, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Emeritus Kim Hayes officiating.
Holly Lee (Lewis) Ferguson was born December 27, 1952, in Port Clinton, Ohio, the daughter of Luther Morell Lewis, Jr. and Patricia Jane (Stevens) Sharron. She passed unexpectedly from this life on Friday, February 21, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Holly grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she attended public schools and graduated from Stranahan High School in 1971.
Shortly after high school, she married her good friend Jeff Leaman. They were married for 15 years, and to this union, her two children, Natalie and Jeffery, were born. In 1978, Holly, Jeff, and daughter Natalie moved to Chickasha, where she quickly became an active and dedicated part of the community. She was deeply involved in her children's school lives, serving as a homeroom parent, a member of the PTA, a Brownies/Girl Scout Troop Leader, and a supporter of their extracurricular activities.
Holly was employed at Southern Plains Medical Center for over 10 years, where she made many dear friends. She had a wide range of interests and creative talents, including reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and painting. She grew up dancing and always found joy in it, whether on the dance floor or simply moving to the music. She also had a love for Broadway musicals which she enjoyed sharing with the people she loved. Having grown up near the water, she cherished time spent at the beach and the lake, with family and friends, especially enjoying the search for shells and arrowheads along the shores.
She married the love of her life, Charles Ray Ferguson, on July 22, 1989, in Chickasha, and her life forever changed. Together, they shared 35 wonderful years of love, laughter, and adventures. Charlie’s encouragement and support gave her the confidence to take on new challenges, and when he became mayor of Chickasha, Holly fully embraced her role as a supportive partner. She hosted city events and centennial celebrations, further strengthening her deep connection to the wonderful community she loved.
In 1994, she and Charlie founded and opened Ferguson Funeral Home, pouring their hearts into building a business that continues to serve the community with care and dedication to this day. Holly also gave her time to numerous organizations, serving on the boards of the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Women Service Center. She was actively involved with Santa’s Workshop and the Junior Social Workers, where she served as both President and Vice President, as well as PEO Chapter CR, where she held roles as treasurer and auditor.
Holly loved Christmas and is fondly remembered for her elaborate Christmas villages. For over 20 years, she and Charlie hosted their annual Christmas party, welcoming many friends into their home with warmth, cheer, and hospitality. Most of all, she treasured having her blended family home for the holidays, filling their home with love, decorations, and delicious food, creating a holiday magic only Holly could provide.
She was a ray of sunshine in every room she entered, but above all, she was a wonderful wife, loving mother, jovial Nama, and great friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Linda (Lewis) Thurman, and her brother, Luther “Tripp” Lewis III.
Loved ones left to remember Holly are her husband, Charles, of the home; daughter Natalie (Leaman) Crawley and husband Ray of Noble; son Jeff Leaman Ferguson and wife Josefina of Gulf Shores, Alabama; step-sons Chris Ferguson of Chickasha and Jason Ferguson of Guthrie; step-daughter Erin (Ferguson) McCauley and husband Richard of Piedmont; grandchildren Macey Crawley, Barhett Crawley, Bryson Crawley, Jameson Leaman Ferguson, Addison Ferguson, Bailey Ferguson, Hudson Ferguson, Gracie McCauley, and Benton Ferguson; sisters and brothers-in-law Julie and Charlie Freeman and Kelly and Tim Duong; as well as extended family and many dear friends.
