Memorial services for Helen J. Hall, 77, of Verden, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha with Rev. Michael Oberlender officiating.
Helen Jane (Miller) Hall was born October 25, 1941 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Alton Othal Miller and Katherine Pearl (Graham) Miller. She passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her home in Verden, OK.
Helen grew up in Carnegie and attended high school in Chickasha.
She married her soul mate Duane Hall on the 18th of April, 1964 in Chickasha OK. In this union they had four children, Deborah, Kimberly, Robert and Shannon. Helen did waitress work at various coffee shops in Chickasha for over 50 years and always had a smile for everyone. She loved to spend her time reading, enjoyed mowing the yard, and spending time with family and friends. She was the Vice-President of the Chickasha Auxiliary American Legion #54 for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Duane E, Hall; mother, Pearl Durham; father, Alton Miller; step-dad, George Simpson (whom she always considered her real father); three sisters, Louise Smith, Joyce Hooper, and Kay Powell.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Deborah and Dennis Plunkett of Lawton, Kimberly and Rick Walker of Waukomis, Robert Hall of Lawton, Shannon and Kyle Richardson of Chickasha; sister Reta Bush of Chickasha; grandchildren Dustin Plunkett, Casey and Eddie Prisby, Destiny Richardson, Shantel Johnson and Raymond Plunkett; four great grandchildren Chloe Prisby, Brady Prisby, Wyatt Plunkett and Sawyer Johnson; and other extended family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oklahomans for Special Library Services, P.O. Box 53593, OKC, OK 73152. This organization sends out audio library books for personnel with limited vision.
Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest along side her husband, Duane in the National Veterans Cemetery in Elgin, OK at a later date.
