A memorial service for Helen Irene Andrews, 75, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Daniel Edwards officiating.

Helen Irene (Kessler) Andrews was born May 25, 1948 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Orville Albert Kessler and Florence “Viola” (Millpaugh) Kessler. She passed from this life on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Helen grew up in Hinton, Oklahoma and graduated from Hinton Schools in 1967.

When her children were growing up, she lived in Germany and Louisiana for a time, but then returned back to Oklahoma. She absolutely loved to go for walks and liked plants. She enjoyed watching Little House on the Prarie and The Price is Right, she was a big fan of Bob Barker. Her daughter remembers that when they were little, she liked to cook them biscuits and gravy. She enjoyed going to church and loved her grandchildren.

She met Robert “Bob” Wade in 1986 and they shared their lives with one another for 36 years, until his passing in December 2022.

Helen was preceded in death by both parents; son David Andrews; granddaughter Jamie Cardona; two brothers Glen Kessler and V.O. “Buddy” Kessler; two sisters Thelma Ruyle and Faye Lockhart.

Loved ones left to remember her are her daughter Michelle Gill and husband Carl of Chickasha; son Michael Andrews and wife Tracy of Chickasha; son Kenneth Andrews and wife Sheila of Mustang; sisters DeLois Finley and husband Russell of Cement and Paulette Taylor and husband Richard of Moore; grandchildren and their spouses Jacob and Katie Cardona, Dallas Cardona, Brayden Gill, Ashley and Morgan O’Dell, and Whitney and Tyler Roberson; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

The service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
