Funeral Services for Harold Dean Barrington, 78, of Bradley, will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha with Kim Hayes and Joe Elam officiating.
Harold Dean Barrington was born August 27, 1935, in Marlow, Oklahoma, the son of Otto and Cleo (Fleming) Barrington. He died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
His family moved to the Lucille community in 1940 and he attended the Lucille schools until the 8 th grade. They then came to Chickasha where he graduated from Chickasha High School.
Harold married Kay Phyllis Carroll on June 25, 1955 in the Friend community. They raised five sons together and have been blessed with many added family members over the years. He bought land in the Bradley, Oklahoma area and moved his family there in 1978.
In 1948 he began custom harvesting from South Texas all the way to Canada. He also operated a dozer service in the Grady County area. He farmed, ranched, and custom harvested in Grady County for over sixty-five years.
Harold was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Linnea Elaine.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Barrington of Bradley; five sons and their wives all of Bradley, Kent and Rose Barrington, Steve and Sonya Barrington, Randy and Vicky Barrington, Toby and Connie Barrington, and Scott and Rhonda Barrington; grandchildren, Colby Barrington and his wife Gwen, Kyle Barrington, Kevin Barrington, Joshua Barrington, Jon Barrington, Dustin Barrington, Paige Barrington, Amber Rimer and her husband Chris, Michael Barrington and his wife Emerald, Kristy Handke and her husband Derek, Mason Barrington, Braylyn Barrington, Hailey Terry, and Faith Terry; great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Kenzie Handke, Jade and Carter Barrington, and Chloe Rimer; three sisters, Pat Thompson and her husband Bill of Stephenville, Texas, Marilyn Barrington of Healdton, Oklahoma, and Betty Barrington of Sherman, Texas.
Interment will be in the Bradley Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
