Funeral services for Gwen C. Shadoan, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kim Hayes officiating.
Gwendolyn Charlene (Davis) Shadoan was born on July 14, 1928, near Minco, Oklahoma, to George Andrew and Lillian L. (Stewart) Davis. She passed away Monday, December 4, 2017, at Brookdale Memory Care Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Gwen attended Meridian High School, and OCW college in Chickasha (now called USAO). Gwen married Reaford Shadoan on May 29, 1950 in Borger, Texas and they were married 47 years. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Gwen and Reaford moved to Ohio because of his job with the Air National Guard. After retiring from the Air National Guard, they moved back to the Chickasha area. Gwen moved to Tulsa in 2011.
Gwen’s faith was important to her and she loved her church and her Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who truly cherished her family. Gwen enjoyed painting and crafts and collected antique dolls. She also enjoyed animals, especially her dogs and her favorite horse “Bill”.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Reaford; sister, Wanda June Sitterding; and a son, John Steven Shadoan.
Gwen is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Erlene (Stephen) Williams of Chickasha and Sherrie Lynn (Philip) Wallace of Tulsa; a brother, George Ronald Davis of Chickasha; nine grandchildren, Erin (Brian) Unruh, Samuel Shadoan, Michael Shadoan, Rachael Shadoan, Brian Williams, Jeffrey Williams, Luke (Carolyn) Wallace, Joseph (Michelle) Wallace, and Timothy Wallace; and eight great grandchildren.
Family visitation will be Thursday, December 7 th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
