A graveside service for Goldia Marie Reed, 81, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Reverend Michael Oberlender officiating.
Goldia Marie (Edmundson) Reed was born October 17, 1941 in Norman, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clyde Frances Edmundson and Anna Mildred (Holcomb) Edmundson. She passed from this life on February 24, 2023 in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Marie grew up in in Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School in 1960. After graduating, she lived at home and worked, supporting herself for a time.
On March 20, 1977, she married Fred C. Reed and they shared 22 years together until his passing in 1999.
They had moved to the Chickasha community in June 1996. Marie worked as a nurse’s aide in home healthcare and with Helping Hands. She later worked as the receptionist at Work Force Oklahoma.
Until her health declined, she was a member of the First Christian Church, the Christian Women Fellowship, the Women’s Republican Party, T.O.P.S. and the Rural Neighbor Association.
Marie liked fishing and cooking. She also enjoyed working crossword and sudoku puzzles.
She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband Fred.
Loved ones left to remember her are her son Harold Reed and wife Dena of Chickasha; sisters Lois Kruse Stinnett of Chickasha and Patricia Kiefer and husband Daryl of Lake Park Georgia; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
