Funeral services for Gerald Wayne Hartsburg, 64, of Chickasha, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Walker officiating.
Gerald Wayne Hartsburg was born the son of Delbert Hartsburg and Myrtle (Joan) Hill-Hartsburg-Pollard in Phoenix, Arizona on May 21, 1949. He died on July 19, 2013 in Oklahoma City.
Gary married Robin Israel in 1967 in Phoenix, AZ. They had one son together whom they raised jointly.
Gary was a traveling man in his youth and in 1978 found himself in Chickasha, Ok. There he met Carolyn Jaques (Bridge); they were married on June 21, 1979, and had a beautiful family together. They remained friends through the years.
Gary accomplished a lifelong goal of graduating college with a degree in Business from USAO.
Gary then met and married Ann Robinson on May 8, 1989. They shared many fun years together. He shared the rest of his life with her making great memories with children and grandchildren.
He created a beautiful outside oasis with his “green thumb”. Gary took an empty canvas and created his peaceful getaway from the busy everyday stressors that life can bring. Gary was an entertainer, he loved for people to smile, laugh and have a great time. Some of the memorable times were his cook outs and birthday parties. He was an avid storyteller; he loved spinning stories of his many life adventures. Making memories was everything to him.
Gary was employed by the Department of Human Services for the past 24 years where he was deeply loved. During his life he was also able to accept the role as President of the Eagles Lodge where he had an opportunity to help with the community in many ways.
Preceded in death by: parents; Delbert Hartsburg and Myrtle (Joan) Hill-Hartsburg-Pollard, brother; Donald Hartsburg, daughter; Vanessa Hartsburg.
Survivors include: wife, Ann Hartsburg of the home; siblings, Terry & Sandra Hartsburg of Phoenix, AZ, Bob & Debbie Dale of Franklin, IN, Glen & Connie Pollard Los Angeles, CA, Glenda Pollard-Hunt of Blooming Grove, TX, and Jim & Joyce Pollard of Springdale, AR; son, Eric & Diem Hartsburg of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Jessica Hartsburg- Graham & Chris George of Chickasha, OK and Crystal Hartsburg & Adrian Lajas of Cleveland, TN; step-daughter, Lisa Robinson of Chickasha, OK; seven grandchildren, Alysia, Brooke, Halee, Devin, Ella, Alayna and Alexandre; Along with nieces, nephews, other family and friends that he loved dearly.
Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
