A funeral service for Gerald Arnold Ibsen, 88, of Anadarko, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.
Gerald was born December 15, 1936 in Fremont, Nebraska. He passed from this life on January 2, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Gerald grew up in Fremont. He joined the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. When he was honorably discharged, he was stationed at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma and settled in Chickasha.
He owned several service stations in the area, one at 29 th and Hwy 62 and another at 4 th and Grand, where he started Gerald’s Wrecker Service, serving the Chickasha community for over 40 years.
On June 30, 1996, he married Betty Wills in Las Vegas and they shared 28 years together. They enjoyed camping in their motor homes, boating and fishing. Gerald liked riding motorcycles. He loved looking after their great-niece Sydney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charla and Wendell Mogg, brother-in-law Warren Miles, and mother-in-law Martha Wills.
Loved ones left to remember him are his wife, Betty, of the home; sister-in-law Joy Miles; nephews Michael Pratt, Jeff Pratt, Danien Pratt, Charlie Largent and his wife Shannon and daughter Sydney, and D.R. Largent; four dogs George, Butch, Chance, and Rusty; sons Mike and Jerry Ibsen and their families; and other extended family.
Viewing for Gerald will be on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
